Sandy Brumbaum
Fifth Grade Head Teacher
Sandy Brumbaum has been working in education for over 30 years, consulting and teaching in independent, public, and charter schools, as well as graduate classes at SF State and Mills. She was born in Ohio, lived abroad in Taiwan, Japan, and Korea for 16 years until she graduated from high school. After graduating from UC Davis in economics, Sandy worked in finance for two years before attending UC Berkeley to get her teaching credential and M.A. in education. She has taught in Berkeley, San Leandro, San Ramon, San Francisco, and West Contra Costa working as a classroom teacher, intervention specialist, literacy coach, and curriculum writer. In her personal time, Sandy loves to travel, hike with friends, quilt, knit, read and talk about books.
Why I Work with Children
Children are my teachers. I learn as much from them (if not more) as they do from me.
